Go Johnny Go!

So, just to be clear all you friendly Americans that appear to be cheerleaders for our trip, as shocking as this may be, we really don't give 2 cents about the royal baby. In fact, we positively oppose the addition of another scrounging royal.

Now that's out of the way .... OMG we're in New Orleans!!! Happy Cinco de Mayo

We started our day with a wafflicious breakfast, accompanied by an advert of The Fonz selling mortgage recovery - not what you expect to see over your maple syrup soaked goodness.

Then we hit the road and have taken full advantage of the soundtrack all day.  We ceremoniously sang along to H61 Revisited. You want evidence?

Lou rocked out to some classic Boston and ZZ Top, then we stopped off in Natchez

to see some Antebellum houses and tore down some curtains to make Lou a dress.

Unbeknownst to us, Natchez is the biscuit capital of the world, not as in Rich Tea, but hot buttery salty sconey things, served with orange butter. A taste sensation. We partook at the aptly named Biscuits & Blues joint.

After a look at the Mississippi bridge
we were back on the road,

we ensured we noted our support for Edward 'Moose'
Morgan for sheriff, and then drove down into Louisianna, with the trees hanging thick with Spanish moss and Janice serenading us into Baton Rouge with Me & Bobby McGee. Then it was on to NOLA.

This part of the drive consisted of many large out of town strips with big eateries and superstores and what feel like soulless towns. But actually driving through the shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain on a huge causeway cheered us up no end.

We are staying in a massive shotgun house in the Marigny quarter, with a great outside space, and Hank. Den isn't convinced that even if the giant dog is named after H Williams, it's ok.

Yup, that's a hammock.

We were going to have a quiet meal and orientate ourselves this evening, BUT IT'S NOLA BABY!! Free tequila shots - don't mind if I do. The best peanut butter bacon burger EVER and a raucous bar with band in Frenchmen Street.

Then your average brass band in the street.

Slightly more exhilarating than a TU band on a small demo!! Lou has found her spiritual home. Den says it's only been 6 hours. Lou says shut up Denis.

Awesome: Do you really need to ask?!!
Banjo: Advert stating 'Official sponsors of binge-watching' what is that? Are they spying on our diner challenge activities??
Diner: Hot biscuits, crawfish & corn chowder. In your face Binge Watchers of the USA.
Co-pilot: Despite a long drive and many opportunities to mess up, we prayed to Our Lady of Sat Nav and arrived on time, with the relationship in tact. 10-10 reigns.
NEW CATEGORY ALERT: Lou v Mosquitos: Lou: 0 - Mozzies: 1 Trillionzillion. Bastard bitey things :(
